If your lead acid charger charge upto14.2 to 14.6 volts to the battery ,then it will work on the lithium battery. Do not use chargers with equalizer mode that charges above 15V.
Are the bluenova lithium batteries built waterproof?
you can't put the battery completely under water. But it is fine to be splashed on them . Bluenova Lithium battery is no problem to be used on the boat.
Can I use lead-acid battery chargers to recharge with BlueNova Lithium Ion Deep Cycle batteries?
Generally, lead-acid chargers for lithium batteries can work but not the best. Lead-acid batteries charge at 2.30V to 2.45V per cell while lithium batteries require 3.60V per cell. Apparently, the lead acid charger's max. voltage is around 13.8v that not able to fully recharge the lithium battery which requests max. voltage 14.4v, you will not get use of the full capacity of the lithium battery, nor will balancing be triggered in the lithium battery pack, both of which are very important. BlueNova Lithium offer their own matched lithium charger for the lithium battery to work together. No expensive but a tough lithium charger.
How do I maximize the life span of my lithium deep cycle battery?
Battery life span for a lithium battery can be enhanced by not discharging the battery to zero or to the point of BMS cut-off. Discharge till the BMS cut-off usually means only about 5-10% capacity left, that will largely decrease the life of the battery. Instead, we advise at least discharging down to 20% capacity remaining then re-charging the battery on time. Of course, the higher DOD, the longer lifecycle.
Can i put a BlueNova lithium battery in parallel with an AGM battery?
Not recommended. Parallel connection with the same lithium battery from the same batch.
Can I charge my lithium deep cycle battery with a solar panel?
Yes, but we need to make sure the open voltage of the solar panel is below 18V for a 12V battery. so, we must have our solar panel equipped with a voltage regulator or solar controller to stop charging at 14.4V or 14.6V setting. If you charge your lithium deep cycle battery above 15V for 12V battery, the BMS inside the lithium battery will turn off. Or may damage the battery BMS in worst situation.
How do i wake up a lithium battery under the protection mode?
firstly, we disconnect the battery power with your device, and then we try to connect the battery with a matched AC-DC charge to wake up.
What will happen to my lithium battery if discharged with too high current draw?
The high discharge rate may hit the BMS limit that caused the BMS shut down the battery pack. we have to disconnect the battery with the electric device. And make sure the Max. continues discharge current from the device will be under the battery BMS limitation. and to wake up the battery, we have to attach a charger to recharge the battery for few seconds.
What is the CCA of my lithium battery?
Lithium battery is best for the deep cycle only. Using the lithium battery to start the gasoline engine has risk to burn the BMS or damage the cells.
What happens if I charge my lithium deep cycle battery too high?
If the lithium battery built with a BMS inside the box, then the BMS will cut-off the power to stop the charging if above 15V. Another case is the BMS will turn off the charging ,but the BMS itself will also be damaged, and the battery is also dead too.
But If the lithium battery built without BMS, then it is dangerous .
Can i shut off or change the BMS board?
No, not suggested. Unless you have the know-how to the battery and the BMS.

Most of our lithium battery built in the same or similar size as the traditional lead acid batteries. Please help double check the battery size when you try to do a drop-in replacement to the 12v lead acid.

Yes. There are no liquids in the Lithium Deep Cycle batteries. Because the chemistry is a solid, the battery can be mounted in any direction .But it is better not upside down in case crush the BMS.
